The Lawns and Landscaping assignment is an organic extension of the architecture we have studied. Lawns and Landscaping were added to period homes so as to encapsulate romanticism and poetry in the exterior environment. The exterior gardens were integrated with the home and provided a leisurely environment, surrounded by nature, where they would conduct business, entertain, and socialize. The grander the garden, the richer you were. It was a poetic display of wealth and power.
